User 1When I bought this horse online for my granddaughter's birthday, I checked over all the horses I could find and hoped that this would be somehting that would be safe and fun. The construction is incredible. The seat is soft smooth leather and padded. My two year little one, easily mounts the horse, and although she is cautious in her undertakings, and some times fearful, she was quickly at ease with this horse. Radio Flyer must have grandchildren as they combed every piece of this product, as did the very protective uncle who put it together, and it is perfect.
User 2We could find no unsafe things about this rocking horse. It is made of the strongest metal and covered wonderfully so no springs can pinch little bodies anywhere. My son said it was a piece of cake putting together. The sounds are so fun, my granddaughter giggles when the horse gallops and the songs are cute. Although it was not cheap, it is the old saying that you get what you pay for and this was the right purchase.
User 3t has been a year since we bought our horse and it is still one of the most played with toys in our house. I don't think it goes a day without being ridden at least once. I haven't had to change the batteries yet, which I must say surprises me since it gets left on constantly. I have to make a correction to my original review, the sound is SUPPOSE to be motion activated, but we have left it on accidentally and 2 am in the morning the thing goes off and wakes the whole household. Not a big deal, you just have to make sure to switch it off, because it will go off even without someone on it.
Radio flyer rocking horse : overcoming problems
My daughter got the radio flyer rocking horse for Christmas when she was about 18 months old. She has loved it since day one.
There are only 2 drawbacks. As others have said, it is HUGE. We recently moved it to put an upright piano in it's place.. they are about the same size! Still need to figure out a place for the rocking horse.
But the biggest problem we've had is the handle. It is two rubber end pieces that slip over a plastic rod. You put the rod through holes on either side of the horse's head and then slip on the rubber end pieces. Problem is.. it won't stay on!
We had a problem for a while with her trying to use the handle to get on - and it would pull out, sending her to the floor! Visitors would do the same thing! Then, for a while, she'd intentionally pull it out to use it to smack things! But it's less of a problem now that she's older and knows to grab his neck instead.
We still have the problem with guests tho.
Those 2 aspects aside, this is a FANTASTIC toy that I know she will be enjoying for a LONG time!

My sister put the product together by herself and she only had two complaints. The first one was that the springs and their coverings were difficult to manuver. The second complaint was that the noise box wouldn't stay in the horse's belly. She couldn't get it it tight initially.

OtherOther then that, it has provided my 3 year old niece with absolute hours of fun. The real "hair" and noises makes this a great product. There are four children that play on Liberty (ranging from 18mo to 4 years old), and they all enjoy it trememdously.

TheThe older kids do not need any assistance getting on or off, but the little ones do need watched and helped. Heck even I had a "ride" on it, and found it to be quite sturdy and well put together. The difficulty with the springs and coverings are well worth it, because there's no possibility of fingers or hair getting caught. It is definitely recommended.

recommended.
